The Arts & Letters Committee is committed to enhancing the community and sorority member’s awareness, knowledge, and activities in performance art and literacy.
The mission of the DELTA Emergency Response Team (ERT) is to: Increase awareness about emergency preparedness activities; Provide structured and systematic training for the membership’s Readiness, Response, and Recovery efforts; Provide steps for early response and efficient recovery.
The EMBODI (Empowering Males to Build Opportunities for Developing Independence) program is designed to refocus the efforts of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., with the support and action of other major organizations, on the plight of African-American males.
Financial Fortitude is an Economic Development initiative which helps participants set and define financial goals, assist with developing and implementing an action plan, and offers information and resources on budgeting, debt management, savings and investments, retirement planning, and homeownership.
The Delta GEMS program offers a road map for college and career planning conducts activities that provide opportunities for self-reflection and individual growth.
Our fundraisers support our annual scholarship awards for Harford and Cecil County high school seniors and other public service endeavors.
As an organization of predominantly African American women, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is uniquely positioned to impact not only the well-being of its membership, but also the well-being of families and communities at large.
Is responsible for providing courtesies to Chapter members in the following circumstances
The committee’s mission is to raise both the level of awareness of the needs of the global community and the level of involvement in addressing global issues.
Is responsible for developing and promoting continuous programs for the retention and reclamation of sorors.
Is responsible for sending information about Chapter programs, activities, and meetings to the local media and other community organizations, with the approval of the President.
Is responsible for conducting training on the policies, procedures, and guidelines of Risk Management to all members and volunteers seeking to work with youth; and Conducts interviews and background checks as needed.
The members of the Scholarship Committee are devoted to providing scholarships to well-deserving high school students in Harford/Cecil Counties.
Each of Delta’s programmatic initiatives has an advocacy component that is implemented under the auspices of social action when it is appropriate or necessary to do so. Social Action focus on ongoing initiatives that confront legislative & voter apathy, committee is responsible for ensuring the Chapter follows guidelines provided by Grand Chapter for protocols, and traditions.
